I'v noticed lots of people on here have the scenery all black behind there tanks with black sand or nothing on the bottom. I think my tank would look great like that I have a 150 gal any advice would be great before I just go get black paper and cover the back lol

Most graduate to Paint eventually.
I spray but I hear rolling is easier.

I've done both spray and rolling on. Definitely rolling on using latex paint is easier, which i chose flat black but really doesn't matter either gloss or flat, it looks the same.

And if you choose to take off then it easier to remove.

paint im sure will look better then anything else but seems hard to do with a large tank with fish still in it lol maybe ill go for paint anyways

If your tank is against a wall like most draining the tank and moving the fish until its light enough to lift and move is alot of work if your lazy like me. Just go to your local Petsmart or Petco and they have rolls and rolls of different backrounds. Personal I like a faded blue. You just slip it behind your tank and tape it on. Very simple and under $20.

most rolls of background paper that they sell are black on the other side. i spray painted all my tanks though. latex paint that can be peeled off
