i need help on how to catch a baby flathead. i have fished and fished and tried different techniques and never caught one.

unless you are fishing in the wrong area, catching them aren't hard! I use a floating beacon hang in the line with the common catfish hook found at walmart and just wait until they bite !

yes. i live in south texas. ive caught larger ones but none smaler than five pounds. do you use live bait?

i havent tried worms yet. dont worry. im aware of how big they get. i have a 500 gallon tank waiting for one and then a pond when it gets bigger. :)

we have a drain pipe area that drains into a pond/creek and it has a super shallow area and there are thousands there. we caught like 20 with a cup last year.

smaller catfish usually hide in the shallow areas, and the place that have under water constructions or tree branches,...
but are you trying to bring them home illegally? the length limit is 18 inches at least! you can try go to fish hatcheries near you, they should have them for you to buy or maybe take some home for free!

In my town we have a put put golf course with a koi pond, and that drains into a creek. in this creek there is a hole that is about 10 feet across and about 14 ft deep. We catch chubs in it. But if you use a bobber and a worm you catch baby flat heads, channel, and blues every 10 seconds. Kinda annoying really.
