How do I choose a severum?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If money is not a factor, I would get a bunch and grow them out. Keep your favorites and sell off the rest.
My personal favorite are the notatus'. Here's mine

Pretty!!!! <3 I do love the bright greens of the notatus! I think that is what I have seen also referred to as spotted... Is that a female? You've done great with her!

I have fish from both of these guys, Rapps is outstanding but can be expensive because of his minimum order amount, Wetspot is also very good.
Looks like he ditched the minimum order idea Unfortunately I am on the opposite side of the country and shipping would be over $70.... Ouch... Wet spot is much closer I guess I'll check out their prices as well thanks for the tips!

Yes, the common name is "spotted severum".

Going by the lack of facial markings, I believe it is a female.

I also have a red-spotted and a rotkeil in that same tank right now as well.

Jeff has some nice stock, and does a good job packing them for shipment.

He's actually coming down to our local event, The Big Fish Deal on March 4th-6th and bringing me a pair of heros liberifer!
You must be on the east coast then? I am jealous!!! I wish I could go it would be perfect timing but I am about an hour north of Seattle ! I would love to see pictures of your fish when you get them! It's going to be quite a big deal for me if I order my fish from him, since I live so far total cost for a 3 inch severum and shipping will be $110. So now I have to ponder my options...
