I found some cedar driftwood by a lake and I was wondering how to clean/sterilize it? I currently do not have a pot big enough to boil it so what alternatives are there?

I personally would just soak it. I wouldn’t add bleach. As the wood soaks up the water it’s gonna soak up the bleach too and then getting the bleach back out of the wood would require fully drying the wood. Even a small amount of bleach in the tank could kill the fish.
Anything you add to a tank from wood will be 1000 times better than adding bleach to a tank.

Okay. Thanks for the tip! Would vinegar be a good option?

Okay. I have a large trash can that hasn't really been used yet so I'll probably soak the wood in that. Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it!

For saltwater driftwood I usually just give it a good spray with a hose to wash off any debris and then throw it in the tank. From freshwater, I'd probably give it a good scrub and hose off then pour a couple jugs of boiling water over it and throw it in the tank.
