How do I get an Oscar to stop laying eggs?

The funny thing is according to a biology textbook I've read, you can stop a woman's period by lowering her body fat to under 17%. The oscar's tank is already without a heater, I'm not about to get a chiller for this effect. Thanks for everyone's feedback, more ideas welcome.

Why dont you let her lay the eggs and then exchange pieces of slate? This would take you a couple of seconds and she only lays about once per month so the solution seems pretty simple to me.

If your worried about her guarding the eggs then fend her off with a net.

My Oscar is a little over 2 years old. A little more than 12.5" TL, she started laying eggs on a piece of slate 3-4 months ago and has done it 3 times. The 3rd time being last night. She lives alone in a 50G (36x18x19) and is fed primarily TetraCichlid Jumbo Sticks, sometimes supplemented by live crickets and night crawlers. Every time she lays eggs, she refuses to eat and tries to attack anything around, eventually the eggs get moldy and she doesn't protect them anymore, then I siphon them out. I want to get her to stop laying eggs. I think she is pretty well fed, at least in the quality of the food so she is conditioned for laying eggs. The only decor in the tank is gravel and few pieces of slate. Perhaps I should take out the slate or feed different foods?

This is the easiest idea. But insted you could just take them out at night when she's 'asleep'.

How many eggs does she roughly lay? Im thinking somewehere between 800 and 1400?

I don't really want to steal her eggs. LOL! She's never asleep, there are too many eggs to count. This batch is considerably smaller than the last 2 but here's a pic from a previous batch:
