Easiest way is to use an undergravel filter on part of the tank.

While this will be a short term solution...

I have quite a bit of driftwood that I've put up with the leaching and now I am very happy to have a lot of driftwood in my show tank that doesn't leach a darn bit...

In my experience it's worth the wait!

Thanks for all the advice... Im going to try the Diatom filter first, then the felt. I know that the tannins will evetually stop tinting the water and will be filtered out eventually.

Any other advice as to what secondary permanant filtration will OVERFILTER my size tank?
