Try feeding like once a day. I'm assuming u feed 2-3 times daily?

Oh well I mean it forces them to be in the open, and eventually they will stable up when they are used to it. Especially in your case because you have so many it shouldnt be a problem. Give it a second try.
I know what you mean. I just have dim lighting for them right now (a nearby lamp). I tried to put my 4 ft. light fixture over their tank and they immediately got spooked. I still want to buy lights for them bc they look so much better with tank lights and hopefully they'll get used to it.

I was actually at the LFS yesterday and about to buy some but the stoner assistant there recommended neon tetras instead. He said, "Dude, they're perfect cuz they're so colorful and fast and will get all your dats out." I was stupid and bought 6 of them. I put em in my tank and they were all dinner within a few minutes.
