How do I get my parrot to be more colorful

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My blood parrot is a really light peach color and she's the boss of the tank, and I feed her spectrum and she looks healthy, how do I get her to bring out her colors?. I have a nice orange baby parrot. Not really sure why the baby is orange and my dominant parrot is light peach, help?

Feed it color enhancing foods such as krill, or Hikari chiclid gold

Keep it on spectrum. One of the best out there. Color is, for the most part, genetic.

you can use any flowerhorn parrot food. like alife or grandsumo, and also buy a bulb that brings, out a ton more red. this is why most parrots are so red. if that dosent do it for you. do,both and buy a redder kkp

Great information about the parrot and colors. I have 2 parrots, one = peach color and one=red color. The peach one is now more active and always out and about. I got the red one on Friday. I thought the red one was about to die. I brought a water sample in to the local fish place on sat and they said everything was ok but was time for a 20-25% water exchange. i did the proper way of switching out the water and adding the new water.

I have a camera on the tank and later that evening I saw the red one swimming around. The fish seems to be healthy and doing fine but not very active.

Is there something that would help the fish feel more comfortable. He likes to hide in the coliseum and driftwood I have. If there is something I can do or try that would be great, otherwise maybe I just have a lazy Parrot lol

hes still new, give him a bit sometimes the more you monkey with stuff the worse it gets ...

im horrible for this too but imagine being relocated to a new house , and people had a camera in your face ... flash flash ... flash ... im just saying im sure your tank is legit , give him/her a bit to get there bearings and if still no progress then worry but for now , relax jack
my 2 cents..
look at my festae thread, in my excitement to figure out what i had got i stroblighted them for like 10 mins trying to get a decent pic, they look worse than before , i think time is the only cure for a sketchy fish...View attachment 783885<<<< see one blanked out festae

ok cool, yea I'm new to the whole fish thing as well. I didn't know if that was normal or not. I have a WIFI camera in front of the tank so there are no flash bulbs going off, just live video stream. lol Yea, I check out my tank while im at work. I appreciate the feedback!!!

Thank you,
