How do i get my RTC to eat pellet?

I have been wrapping my pellets with shrimp so that he will eat them but i would like him to eat them without the shrimp being wrapped around it. I have heard that maybe soaking the pellets in shrimp broth but i dont kno about if that will work. any suggestions? :nilly:
 
ill stick it in my hand and he will come to my hand cuz he knows i hav food , he will stick his nose on it then swim away... and when i wrap it wit shrimp he will take it cuz he wants the shrimp. i think im goin to try dippin the pellets in shrimpbroth and see how that goes
 
Might work, but it will still take him getting used to the idea that it is food and tasting it. He is on step one ... interest.. Next step is tasting, but usually spitting out, and then finally step 3 is eating :)
 
Only offer pellets for a couple of days. Remember a red tail is the trash can of the fish world, they will eat any thing if the're hungry.
 
MONTE ATE PELLETS TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i didnt wrap them wit shrimp. i had been feeding him pellets in the shrimp for 2 weeks now and today he was hungry and was swimming to the surface beggn for food so i took a pellets in my fingers and he gulpd it in. i tried another floating pellets and he was figurously tryn to eat it and finally got it and i fed him another and he did the same thing and ate it!!!!!!!!!! it'll be so much cheaper to feed him now and he shuld be alot healthier.
 
I feed my redtail catfish with pellets but whenever I give him shrimps he doesnt eat it, he will just look at it and avoid it... I dont want him to depend on pellets only.. How could I change his appetite to shrimps?
 
Don't feed for a day. Than put in shrimp until he takes it. Should be right away.

In my experience with rtc's and tsn's they will eat or try to eat anything when hungry!!!! X2 on pellets only for a few days
