to all you auto type folks

i lift my hood for the first tiem since i got it and jsut wow, kinda dirty there , lol.

wanna keep my baby in prime condition despite having a grip of miles and being a 98.

well, Firstly you use engine degreaser...

Lol, I don't know what I'm talking about.

i got a armor all gift pack for chirstmas so imma start with my interior tommrow. gonna make everything squeeky clean and shiny new :)

once i figure out the degreasing part then imma tune it up to make sure everything stays in working order and 100% efficient. might even save some gas.

my new deck and speakers will get installed after new years.

Spray it all with degreaser(easily bought from any auto shop)Let it soak in for about 10 minutes and then spray off, preferably with a high pressure cleaner. You may have to do it a couple of times to get real stubborn grime.

can you spray and engine with water? thoguht that wasnt a good thing for the parts.

Not a problem unless your engine still runs points in its distributer. If so just spray the dizzy inside and out(including cap) and all spark plug leads with wd40 or crc to dispearse the water(this is because the water will stop the spark getting to your spark plugs). If it runs electronic ignition it shouldn't be a problem at all.

The 2 things i use is "BRAKE CLEANER" and "SIMPLE GREEN"...Not at the same time though...LOL.. I use the brake cleaner for the really built up stuff, but don't spray it on the hoses and plastic stuff... And use simple green straight out of the bottle and dont dilute it..I use that for just all around cleaning, For that just spray on, wait a few minutes and then spray off. You may need to scrub a little the first time to get all the crap off...Does good for all my cars....

I normally used "Foamy Engine Brite" it's like $3.00 a can at any wal-mart/parts store. You spray it on, let it soak and then rinse it off. But I always used it on motors out of the car/that would be getting most stuff replaced. Might want to consult with the back of the can see if it says anything about covering electrical parts or anything.

agreed, high pressure washer is the only thing that will work, inles of course you want to pullm the engine and in that case you can soak it in varsahol
