The 2 things i use is "BRAKE CLEANER" and "SIMPLE GREEN"...Not at the same time though...LOL.. I use the brake cleaner for the really built up stuff, but don't spray it on the hoses and plastic stuff... And use simple green straight out of the bottle and dont dilute it..I use that for just all around cleaning, For that just spray on, wait a few minutes and then spray off. You may need to scrub a little the first time to get all the crap off...Does good for all my cars....

Yep, I used both of those this weekend on my engine to clean off some of the soiled parts. Works like a charm.

I normally used "Foamy Engine Brite" it's like $3.00 a can at any wal-mart/parts store. You spray it on, let it soak and then rinse it off. But I always used it on motors out of the car/that would be getting most stuff replaced. Might want to consult with the back of the can see if it says anything about covering electrical parts or anything.

+1

Yeah just use a can of the de-greaser and spray off. Make sure if your intake is exposed you cover it. On my SRI I just put a plastic walmart bag around the intake and rubberband it in place.

simple green and powerwasher..

you guys scare me lol
i wouldnt use a pressure washer.
use a garden hose and try not to soak everything.
try to just rinse off the crap.little water as possible.
if you knock off hoses with high pressure,do you know where they go?lol
or water can get places you dont want it.
cover your air filter with a bag and tape, like said above.
cover your coil or dis with a bag.
cover as much electronics as you can.
do it over the grass like said.
do not drive somewhere and do it unless you plan to sit and wait till the car is cold.
you can ruin your car if its warm and you spray cold water on it.
so cover things
spray degreaser of your choice on
wait
spray off crap
let dry
all i can think of right now.sorry all that was out of order.lol

i prefer a hot pressure washer i have used simple green and a garden hose tho

be carefull with the power washer, neighbor's brother got his lincoln done professionally, and water got into some electrical component, car then ran like crap untill they figured it out.
