How do I know if theres too much light

i just got a new 4 ft light with 2 plant and aquarium bulbs.
it seems really bright. how do you tell if you have too much light?

Light=life for plants

Maybe your plants could get sunburned.

take the planting bulbs out?

duh? i think.
if it's too bright remove a light source. are there gonna be plants in the tank?

or what you can do is wrap electric tape around the bulb in a candycane fashion to block some of the light.

It's too much when the fish look extra crispy. Otherwise, sweat them out.

when that happens then by all mean you should get some weaker lights

I think you will be fine. you might get algea problems though

plants are an idea.
might try to take 1 bulb out.
but i just bought this light so i can have 2 bulbs
and tape around a bulb is about as smart as putting a heater on the bed
