my silver aro use to live alone. but my snakehead got too big for his 55 gallon so i moved him to the big tank with the silver aro. on the first day he attacked the aro twice and after that he only bothers the arowana once in awhile. the arowana stopped eating mp(which is what the snakehead eats. he snatches) and now only eats live mealworm. Like Wtf. The snakehead doesn't even bother it anymore. got ways to make snakehead less fierce? and silver arowana more..brave. less jumpy.

Beautiful fish. More space almost always alleviates and even eliminates co-habitation problems.

If the aro is not back to normal, then something is still going on. The aro may be adjusting the new bacterial cultures brought in with the new tank mate. And/or something may be going on at night/when you don't see. Aros can be quite whimsical and moody. Mine were. Often, I didn't know what set them off but often, I understood... with time. How long has it been?

I claim to have no personal experience with snakeheads, but as far as I have heard, they're vicious predators with some nasty teeth. That snakehead is bigger then the arowana. I am personally surprised it hasn't killed the aro yet...Bad mix. Arowana's are very nervous fish to begin with. If the snakehead attacked it, then the arowana has learned to fear it, and having that same fish swim just below him will be very stressful...

^ exactly, move the snakehead. Do what is best for the arowana.

i claim no expertise on anything but my 2 cents is that the silver aro is probably nervous because of the fact that the snake head is there... i mean maybe the snake head has staked its dominance of the aro and the aro is the nervous/stressed because of the presence of the snake head... again just my crazy theory... but if i were in your shoes i'd move the snake head out

Arowana are a territorial fish and by adding the snakehead it has invaded it's territory and most likely dominant. Also Arowana isn't aggressive enough to dominate a large size snakehead. Your Aro stopped eating the MP because it's most likely stressed. I would sell the snakehead as it will cause severe damage to your Aro sooner or later. They are known killers.

the snakehead is a top preditor, your arowana is going to be killed sooner or later....:(. just my op
