I have 3 HOB filters in a 60g datnoid tank and it looks like they're swimming in a vortex. I have 2 ac110's and a biowheel 350. I want to keep all 3 of them on the tank, but I want to reduce the force of the water that's coming out too. What's the best or easiest way I can do that?

Can't you adjust the intake U-tube on the ac110? You should be able to slide it over to reduce flow.

hopefully he wont mind me stepping in for him, but yes you can do that, but it hardly changes the flow rate at all really.

for your AC110s (i have AC70s, i feel your pain), the only thing i know to tell you is to make sure your water level is as close to the waterfall/output as possible. that'll make it the most quiet and reduce the waterflow the most.

otherwise, if you find something out that works good for your AC filters, PLEASE drop me a message telling me unless i stop before it.

goodluck!

edit: dunno much about dats, but is there any specific reason your tank is about 400-500% over filtered? :nilly:

if reducing the flow on the AC doesn't work well via the U tube, I would remove the biowheel filter and keep both AC's.

also, keeping the tank topped up makes a big difference. the water tends to flow across the top of the tank rather than down like a water fall which can create tons of disturbance. I used to run 2 AC110s on a 65g and had no issues with too much disturbances. but you need to keep the water level up at normal levels. don't let it get low via evaporation.

Can not recall where I saw it, but there was a thread using PVC pipe, attached to a HOB spillway.
They sliced a section out of the pipe length ways so the water came out the open ends of the pipe..
Don`t know if this would help you, but might be a cheap/easy fix.
