how do i sink wood/driftwood?

sorry to post another question within this post but how do you clean it without leaching all the tannins out? i want to use some wood i find in the swamps around me but am doing a blackwater tank so would want the tannins

Keeping it in a mixture of salt and boiled water(cooled) for about 10-15mins would work for me.And for blackwater tank use cattapa leaves(Indian Almond Leaves) or peat moss.And not all those driftwood sinks.Harder ones sinks and softer ones mostly don't sink no matter what you'd try unless you tie it up and make it sink.

yep boiling will make it sink and take out most of the unwanted tannins.
