how do i tell a tat from a scomb?

i was wondering how to tell a red tailed tat from a scomb?

The care guide that was posted as a sticky will show the difference. Willbe easy for you to tell after a quick read. A pic would be cool if you have one.. I like looking at pics

It's quite easy to tell the difference between a tat and scomb

Scomb= (x,y,z) == x(z,y(z))

It's all in the tail fin.There are other differences but scombs have the smallest and least attractive tailfins,and they wont be red like those of the tats.

im getting the tat wensday hopefully i just wanted to be able to tell if its a tat or scomb before i bought it

IMO scombs are too easy to tell apart from other hyrdolycus.
has anyone else ever noticed that ALL scombs have that black spot at the base of the pectoral fin?
tats and armatus do not i believe...
scombs also have very small tails that are rounded in a much different shape from the others.
alot of these i cant really explain...you really have to see them for yourself.

I agree Channa and a store near me just got a bunch of scombs with the gold fins.They had'nt priced them yet when I was there but I bet when they do, the price will be higher than normal scombs.I wonder if they will live any longer once they get bigger.
