im useing my 5g hex aquarium as a vivarium and i was wondering how to ad some more hight to it

I agree, there is no way to really add height to it unless you are skilled with some tools. You may be able to make a raised screen top or something but I would question its security since you will obviously be keeping something small in it.

I would say get a bigger tank.

im prety good with tools so im sure a could build some thing just not sure waht i would build it out of.

i was thinking of keeping some kined of tree frog in it ive been reading that haveing a taller viv is better then wide so i thot if a 10g on its side was big enof i for tree frog a 5g hex with add hight would be big enof?

you could keep a single specimen of red eyed or green tree frog in a tank that size without an addition. Frogs don't need a whole lot.

Also, since it is a frog, i would avoid adding to it with screen since they like the humidity and would only hang out in the bottom anyways.

While I agree that frogs do not need a whole lot of space I think a 5 gal is too small for a red eye. Maybe a green tree but it would really be pushing it with a red eye.

Most frogs although they do not move a whole lot during the day are all over the place at night. In a tank that small you are probably going to end up with injuries, nose rubs, etc from trying to jump, move and not having a whole lot of room to do it. not to mention the stress.

You are the frog expert so I believe you. I do think that there are some smaller arboreal frogs out there that he could keep in a tank that size though- red eyed and greens were just the first to come to mind.
