hi, my name is vincent from indonesia and i've been interested in fish lately since me and my partner build our own fish pond.
that's why i started learning and now i'm curious about platinum fish.

i mean i saw different kinds of platinum and all they have in common is the silver color.
anybody kind enough telling me how they breed such fishes, i'd love some explanation in detail thanks!

Pretty sure it's just a generic deformity like albino, leicuestic (sp?), ect.

In theory.....
Breed with normal variant first
F0 gen: zz x ZZ
= F1 gen: Zz, Zz, Zz, Zz
Produces normal-looking variant with recessive gene

Now breed the F1 offspring
F1 Gen: Zz x Zz
= F2 Gen: ZZ, ZZ, zz, zz
Half of these will display the recessive gene and the other half the dominant.

You can than breed zz x zz to get 100% recessive offspring, if they remain fertile to that point

Mind you, I am an engineer; not a geneticist or biologist.

Your F1 generation breeding is Wrong. ...... it has been explained many times elsewhere.
Again for those who missed this..... Zz instead of Bb :irked:
Zz X Zz = ZZ,Zz,Zz,zz 25/50/25 Ratio
See chart for possible variations
