This is wrong anyone who has ever had real experience with keeping piranha's would know that if both fish r fry or a little bigger its fine I have had 5 piranha's and a red Oscar together for about 3 years and the piranha's have accepted the Oscar into there pack now if ur piranha r over 4-6 inches u don't add a new fish they will destroy it even my Oscar acts like a piranha he will eat anything they do he even swims right beside them so not meaning to hurt ur feelings on what u think u know but my friend u r wrongNone that you won't mind losing. Sooner or later, they WILL disappear.
I'm sure a man with more experience in the fish hobby than you've been alive wouldn't know a single thing or even be able to tell you the incredible list of fish he's spawned( including phiranas). This is wrong anyone who has ever had real experience with keeping piranha's would know that if both fish r fry or a little bigger its fine I have had 5 piranha's and a red Oscar together for about 3 years and the piranha's have accepted the Oscar into there pack now if ur piranha r over 4-6 inches u don't add a new fish they will destroy it even my Oscar acts like a piranha he will eat anything they do he even swims right beside them so not meaning to hurt ur feelings on what u think u know but my friend u r wrong

Look the man may know some stuff OK u may IDC I'm tried of people saying it can't b done I have done it and a couple of my friends have to not with the same fish either one has jacks n with his and the other had a flowerhorn yes I may not have done it my whole life but I test the limits and if u put a push over fish in with piranhas then yes ull lose it u gotta kno its temperament and behavior a fish the is aggressive and territorial like dovii jacks flowerhorn oscar and so many others out there its will b fine as long as u keep em well fed n a tank were they all have room the fish will leave each other aloneAs Thekid said you are responding to a man who has made real contributions to the hobby beyond simply keeping fish and whose practical knowledge is more or less legendary.
As for years of experience I myself have 20 years but I wouldn't use that as a way of evaluating ones knowledge or using it to bolster my own argument for how much knowledge I have. There are those in the hobby who have actually studied ichthyology and gone on real collection trips, discovered new species and have kept the same species under every known variable in their 1000's of tanks in less years then I and have amassed knowledge way beyond my own. Mind you I've kept Oscars, African Tiger Scats, Scherzeri, Armatus, Swordspine Snook, Trachy Trachy cats, Tapajos I Pikes, Pearsei, Celiodochilus, Datnoids, Zebrina the list literally goes on to where I've kept probably at least 30 different species. Yet compared to many on MFK I'm a novice. Which is fine by me, the measure of a truly knowledgeable man is knowing his limitations yet always seeking to grow.
Now as far as mixing other fish with P's. While it maybe possible to do so successfully, it would be the exception not the rule. You go to any P dedicated site or any experienced keepers of P's and they will tell you mixing other species with P's will lead the vast majority of the time to the other fish being killed or eaten. Your successful P with an Oscar cohabitation is not common and promoting it as such is misinformation.
Yea ull find more failure then I will find success but they don't go into detail on what happened when they introduced the fish and not just any fish will be OK with piranhas true but if u start off with both species the same size then ull have better luckI imagine the misunderstanding you must be having is due to being defensive. You quoted me and in my quote I said "it maybe possible but would be the exception not the rule". I even gave you credit by saying "Your successful P with Oscar cohabitation". So how does that equate to me saying it can't be done???? Again I say your point is invalid, not because it's impossible but because most people who've tried it have failed. If you want to argue the point I'll gladly search and find all those who've tried and failed and you can supply examples and pics of those who've succeeded and we'll see which is the more common.
