Well you have to look at what kind of lighting you have and what kind of lighting they need. You have to look at your skill level and how easy or difficult they are to keep. You have to look at what kind of fish you have and what kind of plants go well with them and you also have to go with ones you like.
also the co2 requirements. some plants are more sensitive and will just not grow w/o the addition of co2
some ppl mix in additives to the subtrate to help w/ nute uptake right??? i've never been able to keep live plants my cichlids dig them up. or do they live off the nitates in the tank i know they convert alot of harmfull ammonia.....gotta love the effects of Co2 i used it on my indoor garden and it did wonders!!!!!!!
