Damn a month!! I just got a 32" tall piece and I cant get that thing to sink for the life of me. I have it propped under the center brace upside down in the tank, guess I'm gonna be waiting a bit for it.
What kind of wood is it? Generally, even big chunks sink afer a few months or so. Such a long floating time makes me wonder if the wood was suitable or still too fresh?! Do you have any problems with it rotting? Just curious, since my driftwood is still tied up under water - I will remove the fishing line after Christmas (4 months) ... and find out
If you have a drill and a good bit, drilling slate is my favorite method for long term. I have some driftwood that's been in a tank for over a year and when I remove the slate it still wants to float
