How do you buy your fish?

I am not picky about fish at all, common or uncommon so I do buy mine at the LFS. The shipping fees for fish are out of my price range for what I am willing to spend...at least at the moment. I also am a bit nervious about not being able to see the fish and the whole shipping process.
With that said, a lot of the times I will simply catch my own fish...cheap and fun. You obviously have to be a native fan though.

Thats cool and i used to feel the same way about buying online from sellers known or unknown. I started being a nervous nelly but as time passes by, you will hear whos good and who is questionable. And once you have a rapport with a particular seller, its like you dont even have to ask a billion questions..

I believe you, I trust a lot of the sellers and have never even bought a fish from them...not yet anyway. I trust DW who delivered that gorgeous royal pleco, I think by now I can trust Jeff Rapps...I have heard nothing but great things about him. I am sure the grand majority of the community sellers if not all of them are trustable. There is still the price though.

I like the fact that you can find rare fish online but I just can't swallow the shipping cost. For example, aquascapeonline.com has beautiful wild caught green terrors that I would love to buy but I will not pay $30+ for the shipping which is more than the fish.

my 2 good lfs has or will get what im looking for. ive looked online but like others, shipping kills it. lfs can do a bigger order and somtimes come out even cheaper.
