How do you care for your rope fish?

Just answer the title lol. How large of a tank do you use, what do you feed them etc. I just want to hear what you guys have to say to give me a better idea how to care for mine.

I just saw Machine's tank today and he has huuuuuuuge ropes.

He does weekly water changes, and feeds chopped up shrimp (small enough to easily be eaten by the ropefish).

4 young ones(8-12'') in a 55gal, shrimp scallop, squid, bloodworm, mysis shrimp, red wiggler worms, meal worms, and cichlid pellets are whats on the menu

Do they come out and feed quite quickly after food being dropped into the tank?

I have read that they can be quite slow to respond, and basically starve as they are outcompeted by other fish.

My 3 are out as soon as the food hits the water. I usually put some in my hand and they quickly swim into it to eat. That way I'm sure the other fish don't eat all their food. I prefer a natural tank for them. Lots of driftwood and thick plants. They are active throughout the day.
