As the title suggests, how do you catch crayfish in streams and such? I've been reading through and people talk about wild caught ones.

I used to catch them in a stream all the time to feed to my Fahaka.
I just used 2 regular aquarium nets - put one behind the crayfish and one in front. Then close them together.
Crayfish usually scoot backwards to try to escape.

what I do to catch them is to turn rocks over slowly and then use either 2 nets or cups and put one in front and one in the back. They scoot backwards. I carry a big bucket with me to put them in. Good luck!:)

I would make a fishing pole out of a stick, string, and a paper clip. For bait you can use chewed bubble gum or lunchmeat. :)

theyre jsut kinda basket type things, well for lobsters, and its the kinda thing where they can get in and not out, like you can catch wasps with those traps where they fly inside, but cant get back out, because they dont fly down

i usually tie a chicken leg to a string and drop it down into the water....works great
I do similar.. I get a sock and chicken livers.. And drop the sock hooked to a string down. Most the tiem they wont let go once they latch on even when you pull them out of the water LOL

used to do it all the time as a kid

nowadays I do the following

I get in my car, drive to the LFS, find something I like, talk with one of the associates, and then go up to the counter, and pull out my wallet and hand them a plastic card, then take it home and either eat it, or toss it in one of my tanks
