Thats what I did but when I tried, it was after fishing and caught no crayfish. I definatly will bring the bucket and net next time I go.
seeing that you live in orlando, I ll just assume its orlando FL? anyways uhm seeing as how I never see them around here, where do you go to catch them??? like what creek or w/e ?? I know econ but I ve never seen anythere. The only place I know is in a state park, and you cant really catch and keep them there cuse they dont allow you to.

I just flip a rock and grab em'

yep, doesnt get any easier than this, take a small container, pop holes in it, fill it with dog food, easy bait............ive also used a large minnow net and scraped the bottom of a creek or run it through the weeds leading to the shore

go to wal-mart buy a minnow trap/basket put a half a hand full of dog in it tie a rope to the trap throw it in the creek tie the other end to somthing come back the next day u will find crawdads guppies weird bugs of all sorts throw it all in the tank they will eat it up thats the way i do in virginia feeding cichlids. lol

here is what we use down here. use beefmelt or chicken pieces as bait.
you can buy them online from here: http://www.louisianasportnets.com/crawfish.htm

I don't know about anybody else, but I had great success with a small cast net. I caught some nice Crayfish this way. I mostly did this for my children to have an opportunity to check out this beautiful species, but eventually kept one for one of my aquariums. I had "Shelton" for a few months before he decided to climb out via the intake tube on my filter. It still amazes me that he fit through a very small opening in my canopy, an proceeded to crawl across my room behind my dresser. I found him too late unfortunately.
