your small fish, like lakes around here there are always lmb or smb or pbass swimming around like 3" once in a blue moon i can catch one in a net, but i heard about these minnow traps do you guys use em, just wondering

Yes,I have used minnow traps in the past but mainly catch,"minnows". Castnets work great but you need to check your local laws on methods of harvesting gamefish. If you are trying to catch pbass you might be ok. I don't think it is a registered gamefish in Florida.

In Delaware, you cannot harvest SMB/LMB under 12" for any reason, except for in this one lake, but it is 1 fish per day. You would be better off contacting a hatchery, I hear you can get them very cheap.

bass as small as 3" will hit a spinner my kids nailed a few last summer I thought would look nice in a tank

Pbass are registered game fish in Florida.

I built one. All you need is a large container with small holes in it and a large opening that tappers down like a funnel at the top. Then you crumble up crackers in it and throw it in the water the minnows go in for crackers but can not find their way out because of the cone shape.

I used an empty pretzel barrel for mine but a soda bottle would also work.

Just cut the top off and invert it and fasten it in place.

Yes it looks ghetto but it works very well :D :headbang2

check your laws on lmb.some places you cant keep small ones.
pbass only can be caught on a rod "legally" "can be done.i did it".
small hooks with little grubs "or rubber worm tails".
you can keep small p bass legally.
a good way to get small fish is a shrimp net.
like a 2 foot round net on a 5 or 6 foot pole with small mesh.
i get mine for like 10 bucks at tackle stores.

Yes the bucket is for catching bait fish. It would be very illegal to catch LMB to keep in it.

Like everyone else said there are a lot of online wholesalers of native species. It is well worth the money to do things legally.
