How do you clean your AC110?

Hell yeah you re-use stuff.......about 2 months after you FIRST start the filter on the tank,un-plug it,pull it off the back of the tank letting the water drain out through the inlet pipe.Then take the basket out and shake/squeeze the sponge out in a container of OLD TANK WATER!!!!!Do this with your bio-max ceramic chunks too.The Chlorine in the Tap-water will kill your Benificial Bacteria(Nitrobacter,etc.).Replace carbon every month,and every 6 monthts take a SMALL brush to the impeller housing,and scrub the impeller good so it can move good.That about sums it up.Most important thing is to NEVER LET CHLORINATED WATER TOUCH ESTABLISHED PARTS.......EXEPT the empty filter box with nothing in it.

your supposed to clean your ac110 wow i havent touched mine in 6 months no probs on flow or anything come to think of it havent cleaned any filter is a long time
well all the flow is going well but its been running well and now the cloud is getting a little cloudy colored so im guessing id have to wash the big sponge out ill start cleaning now since i have nothing else to do! thanks
Yes,they are bullet-proof,i never said ya' couldn't run it impaired,but for 100.00% Filtration,especially in that kind of system,where a cloged foam block diverts water.AC's aren't "forced-water" sytems,like canisters.
My A/C 110 is a joy to behold. Give the media a good rinse in tank water every 3wks. Complete breakdown every 3mo. Runs like a swiss watch. 1) Be gentle when cleaning the impellar & well.2) If you haven't done so already, lose the carbon & add xtra bio.(carbon only necessary to remove meds or tannins)
3) Tiny bit of lube before replacing motor housing to case. (secures seal)

Is Petsmart.com not selling Aquaclears anymore? I went to order another 110 the other day and the only thing aquaclear they had were some foam blocks...what gives?
