How do you clear a bacteria bloom?

From reading previous posts I beleive that I have cloudy water caused by a bacteria bloom. I have already added several airstones and decreased my feedings. Is there any way to speed up the process?

My cloudy water is driving my crazy!!!

go to the lfs and get diatom powder and put a half cup into a canister the size of say a hot magnum and let it run for a couple of hours and should make it crystal clear...

It acts as a very fine filter.
Water changes also help.

Just do 30% water changes daily leaving the filter media alone to built bacteria. Feed 1 small meal every other day until things level out.

Also make sure that all filter sponges are only cleaned in water from the fishtank. Building up your filter media sessile bacteria is the secret to getting rid of water column bacteria blooms.
In saltwater you can skim a lot off. There are also lots of products based on bentonite clay mixed with water. It's makes the water cloudier at first but drags all the crap outta it over time. Think geo-liquid or easy life.
Diatomous filters are insane. I have 2 here I am converting to fluidised bed filters. They died well before there time and replacement filters are way too much.
