180 in 15 minutes? how do you keep the fish from sticking to the tube? let alone sucking up everything else.
I pump half of my 1000 in about 15 min too.

Pops, how about a room shot of your tank layout?
here is a vid I just took of the lay out, its not really a lay out its just ware the tanks are. keep in mind i have 6 kids and this is a living room. my fish live with us same as all pets and kids.

I bought this safety pump from jehmco. U can set the wated level u want and pump water out tank. I refill by kitchen sink, let water run in bucket and then put the pump insise bucket

Ahhh, having a cuppa while my water changes... this is so much better than buckets... even if I did have to go through a steep learning curve with flooding the bathroom...

I use a python to drain and fill. I do 25-33% water changes weekly. I only fill with cold water to keep all the metals and contaminants from my water heater out of my tank. Fish like a cold water change, this can also simulate a rain season (fresh cold water) and in some cases incourage breeding.

10,000 LPH pump fitted with a 42mm 20 meter hose right out the door into the pool drain, can drain all my tanks 50% in 40 minutes.

Filling up is another story :( use the garden hose but my large tanks take an hour plus to refill, I normally just go watch some telly or so and yes... sometimes the tanks do flood haha joys of a fish room the floors suppose to get wet!

I want to drill all my tanks at a set point and add a float valve + barb so I can connect the hose right in and walk away safely, in saying this I have been timing the refills and past 3 months no overflows.

I have a pond filter on my 300 I just attach a hose switch it to backflush drain the tank down 75% add some safe and then fill it back up. It takes about 15min to drain and forever to fill it back up lol

I know i probably get blasted but i very rrely do water changes as my tank evaporates about 10 gallons a week and i just replace the 10 gallons every Sunday

and to clean the tank i usally do it once every 6 months by draining the whole tank and rinsing the rock
