So I've got a few gold fish that I've QT'd and medicated for parasites, funguses, bacteria ect...now they're living in luxury in my black arowanna tank not being paid attention to one bit.

I put a 4" p-bass in there thinking it will do fine and maybe clean up some of the gold fish and the arowanna nearly bites it in half...

WTF?

Do you guys injure your feeders prior to adding them to attract the arowana's attention? What's the deal here? Should I try rosey's instead due to the different body shape?

try live crayfish stuck on a lexan skewer, just be sure to cut of the claws and the horn first...

No injury if it is in the indoor tank. strange with gold fishes though lol i woulda kept the gold fishes and see how long they last. It would be very unusual to have aro and gold fish in the same tank ... black and (i assume) yellow/orange - nice contrast i say and backup food (it will get annoying if your goldfish acquire taste for aro sticks ...ouch expensive)

Imo, sooner or later goldfish is a gonner.

I think ur aro should go after those feeders whenever he is hungry. Mine do whenever i put them. What did u feed your black aro before using those feeders?

Nothing, he's new in the tank. I just thought it odd that these feeders have been in here since the day I got him and he decided to go for a peacock bass three times their size instead...

gold fish have too much fat content
avoid gold fish feeders for aros

mayb e he wanted something bigger.

1 inch is too small for an 18 inch lol my fish is 14 inch he doesnt bother a 2 or 3 inch feeder he just eats earth worms and blood worm, superworm, mealworm, cricket, market prawns so my gar and bichir and PB eats the feeders
