Nothing, he's new in the tank. I just thought it odd that these feeders have been in here since the day I got him and he decided to go for a peacock bass three times their size instead...
Hahahahah it shows that your aro has taste in fine cuisine? Lean cuisine of p-bass.
Seriously, very strange. One of my tankw (2 silvers, asian and 2 marble pims) loves crickets and small frogs. Got feeders as back-up and algae cleaners ... until aros start to feel peckish. Feeders grow noticably too.
No such luck for feeders in Paima grow-out tank. Eaten as soon as they hit water
PS: i do not feed goldfish (too pretty and ... expensive) - i got an agricultural fish nursery not far from my place so i get quality fish meat for my fishies for less than 5cents a piece (the biggest ones at 2.5")
I agree too.......1" is too small for ur aro.........try larger feeders...........but don't feed goldfish........they have high fat & not nutritious..........
If the p-bass was not in with him originally he might have attacked it cause he saw it as competion in his territory. The last four fish that I have tried to introduce to my tank were big enough but were torn to shreds by my other fish (not quite sure who the culprate is) cause they didn't stand thier ground. however I had a panda cory in there for almost 2 years and no one bothered to eat him.
Well he's settled in nicely now - colors are showing better than before and he really enjoys picking meal worms off the substrate more than anything else. Though he doesn't ignore rosies when I put them in for the scomb and gar.
