How do you get the kok to pop up is it gen only?

I want to know if there,s a trick to geting the kok to get big.
Most of time i see one's with a big head and There in a tank with a divider and a another FH on the other side. Is this the trick.
Or is it gens only????????

For me high protein diet did the trick, 1 month had huge growth. I feed him a lot of "trout chow" also blood worms, shrimp, hikari pellets and even vege and regular flakes.

i believe i heard that the lower the ph the more color they develop & the higher the ph causes the kok to get bigger.It has alot to do with genetics the environment, if you divide your tank w/2 males,diet,breeding,dominance, and im sure alot more.But i would say genetics play a big part and also the type of flowerhorn.

A great example of how to kill your fish. High protein = lots of fat and unhealthiness.

It genetic mostly and if you are talking about the fish in your avatar it will never grow
