i put some seeds is in my tank and the pacage said that they would grow within 10-20days and it took two mounths for one to grow and the rest just float around i just have gravle in my tank do i need some sort of soil
For a planted tank you would need special substrate (you can find that in your LFS and I really like eco-complete). Another thing you would need is very good and powerfull light and a CO2 injector.morrow5150 said:i put some seeds is in my tank and the pacage said that they would grow within 10-20days and it took two mounths for one to grow and the rest just float around i just have gravle in my tank do i need some sort of soil

ya they are the little lilly padsislander671 said:are those the little brown pod ones? i used them awhile back out of curiosity, only one or two at of the package of four would grow, they grew.. but they were slow. dont need any special soil for them, your gravel should be fine they will need something to anchor on to. try exposing them to more sunlight and see if that helps them grow faster. I dont use them anymore however. long story involving a plant hungry cichlid.
ok, that being the case, just remove the ones that are floating at the top if they havent sprouted yet. coz most likely they will not. just look at them closely and see if you can see stems starting to come out before you discard them. the lily pads look nice when they grow, just watch to see if your fish will eat them or not.morrow5150 said:ya they are the little lilly pads
yea that was the case with me, the most i ever got out of a package was 2 sprouts. you could get lucky and have all of them sprout though, i would think.morrow5150 said:so if i buy like three packeges ill get like three live plants
