How do you guys feel about having canopies?

I for one hate them. Makes changing water difficult. Much prefer glass or acrylic lids.

I hate mine. My aquarium and stand are real good quality but the canopy is crap.

I love them. They hide the lighting and make a stand really stand out. I made my own, so I knew exactly how it should be made for it to be effective and easily accessible.

I prefer the glass covers. I can use any filter/light I want. A canopy/hood is better than nothing.

I think they really make a tank look good (talking about the wood canopies).

They look very nice in some cases, but I'd imagine they would be pretty inconvenient for water changes on larger tanks. The only one I have had was on a 55 gallon, so it wasn't really a big deal to just take it off and put it back on for a water change.

I agree that they do look nice and all but I have never bothered to purchase one for any of my tanks.They give an aquarium a more complete look when they are situated in a den or living room,or office...My problem with them is that they seem to obstruct some of the view of the top area of the tank.I may try one some day.

Can't go without one. Little more of a PITA but the looks make up for it.
