How do you guys feel about having canopies?

I like how it makes the tank look... but I hate it when I'm ready to do water changes. I don't think I would mind as much if I had a 4ft tank... but with a 6ft one, I I usually need help getting it off.
 
Mine opens up with plenty of room to do water changes. N besides it helps to keep arowana in the tank lol

I think they look great and can really go well in certain rooms to accent your tank. To each their own but I have never used one.

Sounds like him and I did the same thing...Here's my DIY canopy. I still have to cut my lid in half for easier accessibility though.

0317121333.jpgChris (Paubearer) just built me a canopy with one of his tongue and groove designs. I'm still waiting on my new lights to hang in it and I have to touch up a few spots but I already love it. Its double piano hinged so it opens up HUGE for easier maintenance.
