iono. you should find some reviews before buying it. last think you want is realizing that it was a waste of money

Filled with Eheims excellent Media and scrubbies, you would be hard pressed to get that kind of filtration for that kind of money....hey they are cheap enough to toss if they get too loud...

In my opinion, the filter is more important than the tank. I would not try to save money on it. The eheim is a safe value for 10 years. 240$ on ten years equals 24$ a year !!!
There have been a ton of positive reports on this filter. I plan on buying one when i am needing a new one. I just have to many right now lol.
When you think about it, all a canister is, plastic, rubber tubes, and a pump..... They can be sold for cheap and still do the job!

i have powerheads from that brand sun sun , had them for about 2 years now and still kicking butt !
I have been running a Sun Sun canister for over a year. You can say you get what you pay for but to be honest these filters rock. I would not hesitate to buy more if I needed them. They run ultra quiet and do what more expensive filters do, filter water. You will not convince me that a Eheim is going to do any better job than this filter. It may have "better" parts but "for the money" you cant go wrong. Thats my .02.
There is a long write up over on aquaria central about this filter. From the tests the guy did it seems to be an awesome filter. For that price, I would never turn one down. However, at least two would be best on a 100 gallon.
