I have been running a Sun Sun canister for over a year. You can say you get what you pay for but to be honest these filters rock. I would not hesitate to buy more if I needed them. They run ultra quiet and do what more expensive filters do, filter water. You will not convince me that a Eheim is going to do any better job than this filter. It may have "better" parts but "for the money" you cant go wrong. Thats my .02.
A filter is as only as good as it's contents...What media are you running?

There is a long write up over on aquaria central about this filter. From the tests the guy did it seems to be an awesome filter. For that price, I would never turn one down. However, at least two would be best on a 100 gallon.

OK, I have used the Marine land versions. Here is the deal. The Marine Land C-220 has major problems. I went thought about 3 of them in a year and the manufacturer kept replacing them. I finally got suspicious and when it happened again I demanded the better model (C-360) in exchange. They willingly did so! What!? That is unlike any company to do. I thought maybe there is a problem with the C-220 and I asked. Sure enough the model has severe problems and they admitted it. I used 2 C-360 for some time and both worked really well. Your model is a 265 or something. Marineland doesn't have an equivalent flowrate model, but I would make sure it is more similar to the 360 than the 220. Hope that helps.

I hear thats a pretty solid filter... but I think its not going to be enough for 100g. Might want to purchase 2 of them, especially at that price!

I have this filter and it works great, no problems. Its great as an additional filter.....best of all the price.
cool. do you think it would work as the sole filter on a 50g?

because for my 50g, i plan on moving the canister to another tank so i was hoping to find a new one and stumbled across this one
