for those who are actually doing this, is it time consuming to keep stuff like bloodworms etc alive? how do you do it.

The brine shrimp seems very time consuming so that's out of the question.

also what kind of white fish flillet do you use to feed the fish. Is it the frozen supermarket ones? dont they cost quite a bit if used as daily feeding food for a large group of big fish?

That's a good question. I've never tried it with bloodworms but I've wondered. Blackworms arent too hard to keep alive from my experience. My LFS keeps them and throws in sinking pellets and that's it. I need to do some more research to see if that's right.

Go with market shrimp and smelt, that's the cheapest way I've found.

yeah some of the most interestingl fish require live food like kilis. If you can just dump them in a box under the cabinet then that would be ideal. The brine shrimp hatching process is just too much work to do it every day.
