How Do You Know if a Fish is Really Wild Caught?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
With the exception of certian species that can only be wild caught due to the fact that they wont or have yet to breed in an aquarium, the only surefire way to know its wild caught is to go get your own.

W/c are not more than the others as a whole for the same size animal

yes they are, you pay shipping from central America or wherever the fish was collected from, You think it just appears at the wholesaler?

WC is really based on how much experience you have with the various types of fish.... but understand that some of the rare fish... can only be caught in the wild...

Example.. wolf fish, payara, exotic peacock bass, exotic plecos, datnoids, Gars.. These are just a few examples of fish in the trade where its actually hard to breeding in a local aquarium.. and catching them in the wild is might more profitable..

As times go on... the more fish you come across you'll realize that certain fish are wild caught.. while others are farm breed.. It really just takes experience..

no amount of experience can tell you if a fish is wild caught, you to buy from a trustworthy seller.

There are seller here selling w/c Syn 7.5'' for $45 same price bro in fact less than a pet shop. Also thee wholesalers do not have to raise these fish to this size wich would cost quite a bit really since the animal would be like 2 years old.food space so on.They are not more the home grown f6

OK wild caughts are cheaper,,,,,,,,Bud says so.

A lot of the WC's you are seeing are being raised in Florida, wild from a pond in Florida. Not from Central America.

Bud I thought you were more of a FH guy, you branching out?
