Just curious as to how some of you who live in a small apartments deal with your fishkeeping needs.

I came from living with my parents in a house and having any size/number of tanks to living in a small 1/1 apartment. (bf lives with me also, same situation). So awhile back we downgraded to one 55gal that we brought with us (I do still have my 150 at my parents house). We decided its just not enough and we need more. We really dont have a lot of space but managed to fit 4 tanks in the apartment and a pond project on the porch. Our complex only allows tanks up to 75gal, but does not have a limit on how many you can have. I know some apartments are much more strict. I was just curious as to how some of you deal with your much needed fishkeeping needs and living in a small space with rules against tanks. (yes those are kayaks in the livingroom....and atm we dont have anywhere else to keep them, but they will eventually kept somewhere else).

Here is some pictures of the tanks in the apartment.

Moved out of my apartment to a house precisely because of this restriction. In the 1 br place we had 1 55 fresh and 1 55 sw. I was looking at table tanks for the place before we moved. Do a Google search on "table fish tank". I was also looking into making a multi tank rack. The place we lived in was poured concrete and steel beam construction so the load was not an issue.

I have all my home tanks in storage since moving to FL. It's how I have to deal right now. I hate it.
In college, we had tanks stacked above tanks to make them all fit. I had two in my bedroom closet as well.

I'm also in a 1 bed/1 bath apartment (but fortunately a decent sized one). My personal journey with MTS :) has gone as follows:

20g hermit crab terrarium set up in dining area
Replaced by 40g terrarium in dining area
40g terrarium moved to living room
20g moved to bedroom, converted to freshwater
new 55g set up in living room in front of fireplace (so no more fires, ever)
(outdoor patio pond considered, but rejected)
new 75g fw set up in dining area
furniture moved
new 60g set up in living room next to fireplace

The nice thing part now is that I have a tank next to my bed I can look at morning / evening, and I can see every other tank from my couch and watch TV at the same time!

The not-as-nice part is that my friends think I've lost it :)

(Nice tanks, btw)

Yup I ve seen table tanks! That sucks, but glad you got a house =]

Matt - that sucks =[ and lol @ the closet b/c that corssed my mind but I needed the closet space.

joel - wow nice, glad to see I am not the only nut =] I am still trying to figure how I am going to get my love seat in once I find one lol.

I recently moved out of my apt to a house but at the Apartment we had a 300 gallon, a 155 and a 75 set up. We kinda had to squeeze them in :D I guess we were lucky also because they didnt have a tank restriction and we were on the bottom floor. Water changes were a pain tho because I had to use the bathtub lol
