I just moved my 20 gallon tank (har har I am away from home and this is all I can have right now ) What I did was buy a big plastic storage container some ziplock bags and a few jugs to hold water. It is very important to keep as much of the old water as possible. I kept about half of it. Also make sure you keep your filter media wet, I took all my media out and kept it with the aquarium water in a ziplock bag. I then took out my fish and put them in ziplock bags, I then put all the bags into the plastic rubbermaid and lined it with newspaper for insulation. I drained the rest of my aquarium water and moved my tank. You could do this with a bigger tank but it will just be more work.
Exactly watch out for that heater. Maybe set it low low like 72 even then the temperature fluctuations will be muccchhh bigger than in an 80 gallon tank. Just get a 5 gallon bucket with lid drill hole for an air stone and keep it as warm as possible without having to heat the water up with a heater. He should be ok for a day in the bucket plenty of time to move the tank and equipment.
The best thing I've ever done for tank moving is to have a gravel vac that I can hook up to the faucet for draining and filling. Saves loads of time while you're doing other work for the fish.
