How do you name your fish?

Hey everyone, just out of curiosity im wondering how people come up with clever names for their fish. I personaly try and pick names people get a small laugh at, either characters from movies or funny famous names, sometimes relating to the fishs physical appearance or by their behaviour.

My 17"" rck is named "Clause" after the goldfish from American Dad. My fimbriated moray was named Jack the ripper as he tore apart anything that moved in his tank lol. My buddy has a 4" fat goldfish hecalls Biggie Smalls who lives in a giant empty whiskey bottle.

My wife names all my fish. She just says the first thing that comes to her mind. Usually people names. So far we have thomas jeffrey, thomas, eddie, omar, artie and alfred. Then we have simba, sugarlips ect...

Lol Simba was the name my gf gave to my volitan lionfish, suits him though.

i have a albino senigal we named poly bc he looks like poly-o string cheese i have a indo dat i call billy bad ass bc he bullys everyone around i had a killin flowerhorn inamed jesus bc he servived 2 tank crashes we had a red tiger oscar we named ozzy and a albino oscar i named jeremiah he was a beast helps keep my wife involved in the hobby a little and will hopefully pull my daughter into the hobby as she gets older

I don't name my fish. I only name their feeders. The names are invariably; "Monday", "Tuesday", "Wednesday", ...

My D. Compressiceps are named male/dominant eyebiter and lesser/female eyebiter(x4)

A fish is only named here if its hilarious clever or goes with some physical or behavioral attribute of the individual fish. my new gar is garfield ive had two texas once called walker and the other was texas ranger. i had an albino oscar named chuck norris because he would manhandle anything by being a brute. i had a eel named squinty because he had deformed eyes like this o O , none of my other fish have rly stood out particularly to be called anything yet. althoug h not official i do have the name blood in mind for my midevil who basically has a white body but his orange patter on top looks like blood dripping down. lol
