How do you pellet train a tiger?

nudge a pellet into the shrimp flesh?

Yeah, I would imagine that is pretty much how you would do it.

To be honest if you have been feeding live foods shrimp of blood worm since they have been in the tank it's harder to get them to take pellets

I got a tiger once that wouldn't take pellets in my friends tank for 2 years then he moved it to my tank and fed nothing else but pellets and he took them within 3 days
I think they get used to one food being fed and when they know it's available they hold out until it's back

To tell the truth 1 month isn't long for a 7" it was probably ready to give in as the braking point is normally around 6-7 weeks

Hikari pellets seam to work best sinking carnivore or massivore

Owners normally give in before the fish

Nvm guys, thanks for the help, they FINALLY ate the pellets after 1 1/2 months of starvation. I was getting worried, they swam around alot and gave that over-stretched jaw look lots, like they wanted to gobble something.
What a relief. Ok starvation works, but, imo you really need the HEART to starve your poor fish. I think if they hit 2 mths without food, they would probably die.

I have seen them go 10 weeks before taking food but 6-7 weeks is normally the giving in point

The trick is don't panic and stick with it

Give them a good feed of what they like first then time it from that date
