How do you prepare LARGE driftwood?

Any thoughts on how long to let live wood naturally cure and dry before it gets boiled? Im speaking about manzanita specifically about a 1/4 to 3/4 inchs thick.

What do you do with wild caught driftwood that you are unable to boil?

Pressure wash, soak in a bleach mix for a couple weeks and the dechlorinate?

Do you know anyone in your area that has a lobster/clam steamer pot? Down here in AL, we have crayfish boilers up to around 300 gallons.

I do not have one personally, but maybe I can find something with a finish so that it won't corrode. I'm not worried about tannins, I would welcome the color to the water. It's everything else in the Hudson that scares me.
