For one of my 135's I use an 18" "marine blue" t8 bulb and it casts a light that shines almost straight down. It looms really cool, like moonlight shining thru a hole in the trees of the amazon forest.
On another one of my 135's, I custom made an LED strip light built into each of my 3ft fixtures using blue LED Christmas tree lights. This setup casts a much deeper blue more evenly across the whole tank.
