How do you tell someone about a bad habit

So far not well, he was in a foul mood at the weekend and then gave himself food poisoning so not eaten around him for a while...
Not yet, going to when he's not in a bad mood or ill... but going to be subtle and supportive about it
On the humorous side .. While sitting down for a meal simply say " Hey does your food taste good? If he replies yes say" IT SURE SOUNDS LIKE IT"!!!!
There really is not gentle way of saying "Dude you're a slob." This is on the same level as flush the toilet, wash your hands after you crap etc. It will however sound way better coming from a friend than his partner. There is stuff close friends can say to each other that intimate partners probably shouldn't. When I was steadily climbing to 300+ pounds hearing it from the wife would have had no effect. When a good buddy tells you "Dude you're ****ing fat" It feels very different then when your partnter says it.
Really? I'm the opposite. I wouldnt care if a friend a male friend told me I'm gaining weight but I'd shape up if the woman I'm in love with told me because I'd want to do things to keep her around. I'm not trying to impress my friends, they'll be around no matter what
