How do your fish sleep?

Before you holler "I CAN'T SEE NOTHIN!" Look closely to the left of the sponge filter, down near the sand. Pip's nose pokes out in the dim light. He's made a cozy nest under the filter with dug out sand.

This looks like a Norman Rockwell painting. But...the orange blob you see to the right is Boss. He literally jams himself into the plants along the back wall.

Fish do not have eyelids. They need dark to sleep. Homes have lights on a lot at night before e go to sleep. I even have one tank which I cover with a big towel each night. However, let's not forget those fish that are active at night and tend to sleep in caves/hidey holes during the day. So there is the day shift and the night shift ?

Usually, the day shift hides from the night shift. It helps to prevent waking up in somebody's stomach......

Brick lurks in the early morning gloom. He's usually the first one to 'wake up' and does a tank check. Then he'll play with his basketball.
