How does a powerhead help?

i just think powerhead helps circulate the water so that your filter would pick up the waste.

The easiest rudimentary filter I know of, and the best performing mechanical/biological filter I have ever found, is a simple aqua-tech (walmart variety) 179gph powerhead with an aqua-clear sponge fitted around the intake. Superior current and oxygenation.

well how much current is overkill? i dont want my fish pinned up against the tank wall with all the current. i will probly try it on my 55 first. so how many GPH should the powerhead be and should i have more than one?

I have a fahaka puffer. my last one was 8 years old and had a air bladder disease .he lasted one month. is this common to fahaka in general?what if anything can be done to cure it ?
