How Does American Cuisine Stack Up Against Other Countries?

Screw trying to figure out what foods are truly 100% American, and just toss a few foods that taste good together and call it a meal thereby illustrating the "melting pot" idea that was previously mentioned.

For example, get a cheese pizza and add General Tso's chicken as the topping and have sides consisting of French fries, fried chicken wings, and riblets. And yes, I have eaten all of those together as a meal before, and it was delicious.
 
I used to have employees from an International work program. They came from France, Kazakhstan, China, Thailand, England, Ireland, Poland, Russia, Turkey, etc. and all of them disliked the food here. All of them said it was fatty and greasy, lol! Even the Thai and Chinese students would say that the Thai and Chinese food here was greasier than home. There were a few places that was close to home, but most were "Americanized."
Interesting,I have a few friends and co workers who are from different Carribean islands and they all pretty much put down our food as greasy and fatty lol.
 
I love ALL food. I cant say what my favorite is, but it will include MEAT and my favorite meat is beef. America is the king and pioneer of the beef industry and thus in my mind we are the best at cooking it. Rather its grinding it up and putting it on a bun, perfectly searing the choicest cut of steak or slow smoking a tough cut of meat for a day you are guaranteed a good meal!

Had smoked beef brisket for lunch today actually.
