Ive just purchased a new tank i have a 270ltr corner tank at the moment my new tank is closer to 1000. I do my water changes by adding water to a bucket by touch make it close to the temp of tank water add the conditioner then pour in tank. It has suddenly dawned on me im going to have to do this nearly 50X to do a 50% water change any tips?

For such a big tank I recommend a drip system. Also you can buy 50ft python that connects to sinks and showers

Most of us use Pythons and just suck out the water, add dechlor to the tank, get the tapwater similar temp to the tank, and refill with the hose.

I use a large gauge hose to drain my tanks quickly, then refill with the python.

Most of us with 125g tank and up certainly aren't using buckets. Too tedious. :)

With a few more delicate fish, lie juvie discus, that I wanted to age the water first and get the temp exactly right I filled 40g trash cans and then pumped the water into the tank with a water pump.

+1

buy a hose long enough to reach to the nearest sink/bath tub

Or toilet, or outside. My 1 1/2 and 2 inch inner diameter drain hoses fill my sinks and bathtub faster than they can drain. :p

Just googled the python looks good! So are you saying if i unscrewed shower head i could screw it onto the hose and fill tank this way? I have no other mixed hot/cold tap.
